The Columbia County Real Property Tax Service Agency has a variety of services available to the public. Our office is open Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm. We have a full staff of knowledgeable employees who are able to assist you with areas such as:

Computer Access

RPS, the Real Property System, is a collection of assessment, physical inventory and valuation programs that assist the assessment community in producing an equitable assessment roll. The RPS application allows the assessor to keep their assessment and inventory data current and produces reports required by ORPS Rules & Regulations and the New York State Real Property Tax Law.

Our office has two computers to assist the public with obtaining assessment records and/or inventory records with the aid of the RPS application. The public can obtain information through the use of various search criteria's such as owner name or tax map number. Our staff is there to assist you with all of your needs. Information is available for printing at a cost of $ .50 cents per screen.

Tax Maps

Copies of tax maps can be purchased Monday - Friday. Our office is equipped with an HP 800 Plotter to produce 30 X 42 tax maps. We are also able to provide 13 X 19 tax maps.

Tax maps can be mailed for an additional fee of $1.50 per map. All map orders must be paid for at the time of ordering. Most orders can be completed in a timely manner on the day the order is placed, however, large orders may require additional time. Please note that any requests for changes to your tax map should be addressed through your town assessor. These maps are prepared for reference purposes only. They are not intended for use in the conveyance of land. Absolutely no accuracy or completeness guarantee is implied or intended. All the information on the map is subject to such variations and corrections as might result from an accurate instrument survey.

Reports/Rolls/Labels

There are many printing options available through our office. Customized reports can be created using search criteria for information contained in each town's assessment roll. Let our staff help you to create a special report that you can use for a variety of purposes.

Need mailing labels? Our office can help you to create mailing labels for your business, municipality, or personal use. Why spend hours trying to obtain specific property owner information by searching through records when our staff can apply your choice of criteria using our RPS software. Electronic Format for Tax Maps & Rolls

Tax maps and last filed Final Assessment Rolls can be purchased on CD-ROM for an initial fee of $600 with an annual update fee of $200.

To use these electronic tax maps you must download the DWG True View 2009 program.  A free version of this program is available at usa.autodesk.com.    After downloading the application follow the install procedure provided by the vendor.

**Please note that download times may vary depending on your internet provider connection. It is suggested that you have a high speed broadband connection as dial-up may take hours for the application to complete.

The final assessment roll is provided in Excel format. You must have the Excel application installed on your computer to view the file. If you do not have the Excel application on your computer you have the option to purchase a printed copy.
