Columbia County Planning & Economic Development
The Columbia County Planning Department is located on the third floor of
the 401 State Street County Office Building in Hudson, NY.
The third floor classroom is located on the east end of the building across
the hall from the east staircase.
From the north:
Take Route 9 south into the City of Hudson. Turn right at traffic light
onto Green Street (Stewarts Shop on corner) and proceed to next traffic
light (Hess gas station on corner). Turn right onto State Street and
proceed over railroad tracks and west for four blocks to traffic light.
County Office Building is on your left at the corner of State Street
and Fourth Street. On-street parking is available or you may try the
county office building lot accessed from Fourth Street (note: Fourth
St. is one way going north, so access from Columbia Street one block
to the south).
Take the NYS Thruway to the Catskill Exit 21 and take Route 9W south. Take
Route 23 east to Rip Van Winkle Bridge to cross the Hudson River. Take
Route 9G north (bear left at Stewarts Shop) into City of Hudson (Third
Street). Go to the fourth traffic light and turn right onto Columbia
Street. Go one block to traffic light and turn left onto Fourth Street
(note: Fourth St. is one way going north). County Office Building is
on your right on the corner of Fourth Street and State Street. On-street
parking is available or you may try the county office building lot
accessed from Fourth St. between Columbia and State Streets.
From the south:
Take Route 9G north into the City of Hudson. Follow directions above for
using NYS Thruway.
Take NYS Thruway north to Catskill Exit 21. Follow directions above for
using NYS Thruway from the north.
Take Route 9 north to the City of Hudson. Take a left turn onto Union Street
and go through two traffic lights until Fourth Street (US Post Office
on corner). Turn right onto Fourth Street and go through two traffic
lights. County Office Building is on your right on the corner of Fourth
Street and State Street. On-street parking is available or you may
try the county office building lot accessed from Fourth St. between
Columbia and State Streets.
Amtrak service is available to the Hudson Train Station on Front Street. Taxi
service is available.
